Matt R. Teuscher, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Teuscher grew up on a farm and knew from a very young age that he wanted to be a veterinarian. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelors degree in animal science. In 2004, Dr. T graduated with his doctorate degree from Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced from 2004 to 2013 at a progressive AAHA accredited hospital in Illinois. There he gained extensive surgical experience, especially in orthopedic surgery. In 2013, he and Amanda purchased Island Animal Hospital of Venice. He enjoys all aspects of general practice and helping families advance the human-animal bond. When not at the veterinary hospital, Dr. T enjoys all outdoor activities, especially exploring Florida with his wife, and two boys. He is a diehard Okstate Cowboy fan. He has a crazy labradoodle named “Charles Ralph” and a miniature schnauzer named “Libby”.
Amanda Teuscher
Hospital Manager
Amanda is our veterinary hospital manager and Dr. T’s better half. She has a bachelors degree from Eastern Illinois University in family and consumer sciences and previous experience in the banking industry. Prior to staying home with the boys, she taught high school. She handles all of the “behind the scenes” jobs to keep the hospital running smoothy. This allows Dr. T to focus on veterinary medicine and surgery. What she enjoys the most is being a mom to her boys.
